Welcome

A place to learn the forest — slowly.

Treeming is an international institute for forest therapy education. Whether you are here for your own wellbeing, to understand the science, or to become a certified guide: everything begins with the same first step into the trees.

Looking up

The first invitation of almost every session: stop at the edge of the trees, soften the gaze, let the canopy set the pace.

Contact

Bark, moss, resin, roots. One tree, one sense, several minutes — until the forest stops being scenery.

Earthing

Shoes off where it is safe. Temperature, texture, moisture — walking slower than feels reasonable.

Resting

A sit spot on the ground. Sounds arrive from far to near. Fifteen minutes of silence is plenty.

Forest Bathing

Not a hike, not a meditation — something older.

Shinrin-Yoku began as Japanese public-health policy in 1982: the deliberate, unhurried immersion of the senses in a forest environment. No destination, no pace, no phone.
Four decades of clinical research since have measured what practitioners always felt — lower cortisol, stronger immune response, calmer cardiovascular rhythm, restored attention.

The Organization

Our story, and the people behind it.

Treeming was founded in Zurich by Jörg Sprave, a practising forest bathing guide who wanted the training he could not find: rigorous about the science, honest about the practice, and open to anyone with a forest nearby.
Faculty

Taught by practitioners, not presenters.

Every instructor guides real sessions in real forests. The curriculum comes out of that fieldwork.

An Amazing Learning Opportunity

This was an amazing course and I learned a great deal from Jörg's instructional videos. His lessons were easy to follow and they included simple exercises that allows the student to easily practice essential concepts. The knowledge I gained will not only allow me to be an effective Forest Bathing Guide but I grew so much as an individual. Thank you Jörg for making such an enormous difference in this world!

I entered the course as someone who already has great experience with Forest Bathing. I took the course to refine my understanding and practice. I learned some precise science behind the forest's ability to help us heal, and I received very constructive feedback that was key to my takeaway. The people behind this are real, thoughtful, and present. The coursework is detailed, extremely manageable, novice-friendly, and humble. I recommend it.

Thank you for the additional creative ideas and science based information weaved into the course that help support why we need to gather outdoors more and the healing benefits of nature.
